Sox Continue Interleague Play With Series Against Nationals

As interleague play continues around baseball, the White Sox will welcome the former team of off-season acquisition Adam Dunn to the Cell. The series will feature a match-up of two hot teams, with the White Sox having won 17 straight interleague series and the Nationals notching victories in 11 of their past 12 games.

Starting for the Sox on Friday will be Edwin Jackson. Jackson will be looking to have a better interleague start than he did in his last game against Arizona, when he gave up four runs on eight hits over just six innings. On the season, Jackson is now 4-6 with a 4.47 ERA and 1.52 WHIP. Jackson has only pitched relief against the Nationals, and only for an inning, in which he gave up one run on two hits and two walks.

The Nats will counter with young starter Jordan Zimmermann, who is 5-6 on the year with a 3.08 ERA and 1.12 WHIP. He's coming off of a start against Baltimore in which he gave up two runs on eight hits and two walks over 6.1 innings while striking out two. He has never pitched against the White Sox.

The weather in Chicago is forecast to be cloudy, with sun breaking through in the late afternoon and a game time temperature in the mid to upper 60's. First pitch is at 7:10 P.M., CDT, and the game will be televised on CSN and MASN HD.
