Cubs Look To Take Two In A Row At The Cell

After a comeback 6-3 victory in game one of the first interleague series between the Cubs and the White Sox, the North Siders will try to continue their run and go for back-to-back wins against the Sox at U.S. Cellular field on Tuesday night.

Matt Garza will be pitching for the Cubs and looking to start a win streak of his own, after grabbing a win in his last start against Milwaukee. Though he did get the win that day, it wasn't exactly his best outing, as he gave up five runs over six innings on six hits and three walks while striking out three. In his career against the White Sox, Garza is 1-2 with a 6.87 ERA and 2.24 WHIP. Paul Konerko is 3-for-6 lifetime against Garza, with a double and a home run, while A.J. Pierzynski is 3-for-5 with a home run.

Starting for the Sox will be veteran hurler Mark Buehrle. Buehrle will try to bounce back and get another win after he was denied the victory in his last start against Minnesota, despite a stellar outing. In that game he gave up just one run on three hits and two walks over seven innings, but still took the loss. In his career against the Cubs, Buehrle is 5-4 with a 4.20 ERA and 1.31 WHIP. Reed Johnson has a .370 lifetime average against Buehrle, with three doubles.

The weather in Chicago is expected to be hot with scattered thunderstorms, and a game time temperature in the mid-80s. First pitch is at 7:10 P.M., CDT, and the game will be televised on WGN and CSN.
