Cubs Welcome Yankees To Wrigley For Interleague Series

After taking three of four from their division rivals the Milwaukee Brewers, the Chicago Cubs will welcome an unfamiliar team to Wrigley Field on Friday -- the New York Yankees -- as they continue their interleague match-ups against the AL East.

Starting for the Cubs on Friday will be Doug Davis, still searching for his first win. Davis is 0-5 with a 5.90 ERA and 1.86 WHIP on the season. He's coming off of a start against Philadelphia in which he gave up two runs on five hits over five innings, walked five and struck out six. In his career against the Yankees, Davis is 3-2 with a 6.28 ERA and 1.99 WHIP.

Pitching for the Yankees will be Freddy Garcia. Garcia is 5-5 with a 3.60 ERA and 1.40 WHIP. In his last start, Garcia pitched 6.2 innings, giving up one run on seven hits while striking out six. In his career against the Cubs, Garcia is 4-0 with a 1.47 ERA and 1.00 WHIP. Aramis Ramirez is 6-for-15 against Garcia with a home run, and Alfonso Soriano has a .304 career average against him with one double and one triple.

The weather in Chicago is forecast to be beautiful, with clear skies and a temperature in the low 80's. First pitch will be at 1:20 P.M., CDT, and the game will be televised on CSN, YES, and MLBN.
