The Cubs are returning home to the friendly confines after a 2-8 trip. It will be interesting to see how friendly Wrigley will be as the Cubs welcome the first-place Milwaukee Brewers to town for a four game set. With the Brewers playing so well and the stands at Wrigley looking about three quarters full most of the season, it's a good bet that the stands will be occupied by a lot of Brewer fans.
Ryan Dempster will start the series opener for the Cubs (25-39). Dempster has really turned things around lately. In his last eight starts he is 4-2 with an ERA of 3.67. Even better news for the Cubs is the success Dempster has had against their neighbors from the north. In 44 games against the Brewers, Dempster is 15-3 with an ERA of 2.60.
Randy Wolf gets the start for the Brewers (38-28) on Monday Evening. Wolf has pitched well this season for Milwaukee with a 4-4 record and an ERA of 3.49.
This will be the second series between the two clubs this season. In early April Milwaukee won two of three at Miller Park.
The weather forecast at the time of first pitch is sunny skies with temps in the 60's. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 CST. The game can be seen on CSN.
