Cubs Try To Go For Three Against Phils

After bouncing back from a terrible losing streak by winning their last two games, the Cubs will look to extend their victory run against one of the toughest pitchers in the NL, Roy Halladay.

The Cubs will send starter Carlos Zambrano to the mound to take Halladay on. Zambrano, despite recent controversy, has been largely successful on the year, at 5-2 with a 3.98 ERA and 1.24 WHIP. He's coming off of a start in which a late bullpen meltdown denied him the win after he threw 7.0 solid innings, giving up just one run on five hits against St. Louis. In his career against the Phillies, Zambrano is 4-3 with a 3.60 ERA and 1.27 WHIP. Shane Victorino is 5-for-10 against Zambrano over his career.

Roy Halladay will take to the mound for Philadelphia. Hallday is having another good year, and is currently 8-3 with a 2.56 ERA and 1.07 WHIP. In his last start, Halladay went 7.0 innings, giving up just two runs on six hits, while striking out six. In his career against the Cubs, Halladay is 0-3 with a 4.50 ERA and 1.22 WHIP. Starlin Castro and Tyler Colvin are both 2-for-3 against Halladay.

The weather in Philadelphia is forecast to be clear and hot, with a game time temperature in the mid-80s. First pitch is at 6:05 P.M., CDT, and the game will be televised on CSN and MLBN.
