White Sox Go For Sweep Over Boston

Fresh off of two solid wins, the White Sox will look to Gavin Floyd to try to grab a sweep over their red-colored brethren in Boston.

Floyd has been dependable on the year, and is currently 5-5 with a 3.69 ERA and 1.10. The majority of his losses on the season have come in games where he has been the victim of unfortunate circumstances. He's coming off of a start at Texas in which he pitched seven innings, gave up just two runs on three hits while striking out five, but was still tagged with the loss. In his career against Boston he's 4-0 with a 3.53 ERA and 1.12 WHIP. David Ortiz has a .294 career average with two home runs against Floyd, and Marco Scutaro has a .583 average with four doubles.

Pitching for the Red Sox will be knuckleballer Tim Wakefield. Wakefield has been uneven on the year, and is currently 2-1 with a 4.14 ERA and 1.16 WHIP. Over his career against the White Sox, he's 7-12 with a 4.93 ERA and 1.42 WHIP. Juan Pierre is 3-for-6 against Wakefield, and A.J. Pierzynski has a .310 average with two doubles and a home run.

The weather in Boston is expected to be clear with a game time high in the upper-70s. First pitch will be at 12:35 P.M., CDT and the game will be televised on CSN and NESN.
