Wisconsin/Northern Illinois Soldier Field Tickets On Sale Monday

On Saturday, September 17, Soldier Field will host the 2010 Big Ten Champion Wisconsin Badgers and the Northern Illinois Huskies in a non-conference college football matchup. It will be the third game of the 2011 season for both schools.

Tickets for this game go on sale today, Monday, May 9, at noon Central time. You can buy these through Ticketmaster outlets, on Ticketmaster's website or by phone (1-800-745-3000). Ticket prices range from $70 to $101 (those prices include all taxes and fees).

The two schools have a connection: the Huskies' new head coach is former Wisconsin assistant Dave Doeren, who was hired after Jerry Kill left to take the Minnesota job.

The last time NIU played in Soldier Field, in 2007 against Iowa (they lost 16-3), the game was sold out.

There's one more reason Chicago football fans might want to take in this game. If the NFL lockout does continue and possibly wipes out the entire 2011 season, this might be the only football game at Soldier Field in 2011.
