Garza And Cubs Look To Continue Winning Ways

Matt Garza and the Chicago Cubs will look to continue the small win streak they've started as they return home to Wrigley Field on Friday afternoon.

Garza, who nabbed his first win of the season in his last start against Arizona, will try to throw another quality outing to help the Cubs extend their small streak to three games in a row. So far on the season, Garza is 1-3 with a 3.96 ERA and 1.37 WHIP. Like many teams in the national league, Garza has never faced the Reds.

Pitching for Cincinnatti today will be Edinson Volquez. Volquez has been uneven on the season in his starts, and is currently at 2-1 with a 5.67 ERA and 1.56 WHIP. In his career against the Cubs, Volquez is 2-0 with a 0.96 ERA and 1.50 WHIP. Few Cubs hit him well, though Aramis Ramirez is 3-for-8 against him.

The weather in Chicago is expected to be partly cloudy but mild, with a game time temperature in the mid-60s. First pitch as at 1:20 P.M., CDT, and the game will be televised on WGN.
