Dempster,Cubs Look To Avoid Sweep

In 1992 Bill Clinton was about to take his first term as President. Michael Jordan and the Bulls were in the middle of their first three-peat. Justin Bieber was still two years from being born. And 1992 was also the last time the Pittsburgh Pirates finished the season with a winning record. One team that has a hard time believing that is the Chicago Cubs. Since September of 2009 the Pirates are 16-6 against the Cubs.

The Cubs (22-28) will look to avoid the sweep Sunday with Ryan Dempster taking the hill. The Cubs number one starter has looked like anything but an ace this season. Dempster is 3-4 with an ERA of 6.29. The righty is coming off a great start. The Cubs will need him to carry the momentum from his last start to save face in the series finale.

Starting for the Pirates (24-26) Sunday will be Jeff Karstens. Karstens is 3-3 this season with an ERA of 3.57.

The first pitch is scheduled for 1:20 CST. The game can be seen on WGN. Weather forecast at the time of first pitch is cloudy with temps in the low 70's.
