White Sox Return Home To Take On Rangers After Successful West Coast Trip

A successful West Coast road trip improved the White Sox to 17-24, and now they return home Monday to start a seven-game home stand, with the Texas Rangers (21-19) in town first for a brief two-game set.

The Sox took two of three in series against the Mariners, Angels, and Athletics, and now they must continue their improved play at US Cellular Field, where they're just 5-11 this season. As of Monday the White Sox are nine games out of first place in the AL Central.

The Rangers are coming off a 4-4 home stand including a win Sunday against the Angels. With Julio Borbon being placed on the Disabled List, their entire Opening Day starting outfield is now on the DL. Josh Hamilton and Nelson Cruz are expected to start rehab assignments in the next week. The Rangers are currently just a half game out of first in the AL West.

The pitching match up for Monday will feature a pair of right handers, with Edwin Jackson for the White Sox (3-4, 4.29 ERA in eight starts) against Colby Lewis for the Rangers (3-4, 4.57 ERA in seven starts).

First pitch is scheduled for 7:05. The game can be seen on Comcast SportsNet. The forecast for Monday is 48 Degrees and windy at the time of first pitch.
