Rookie Andrew Cashner And Cubs Look For First Series Win Of Season

Cubs vs. Diamondbacks, Wrigley Field, Chicago, 1:20 P.M. CDT:

The Chicago Cubs will try to win their first series of the year today as they host Arizona at 1:20 P.M. at Wrigley Field. It will be a battle of two rookie starters -- Andrew Cashner for the Cubs, and Barry Enright for the Diamondbacks. Both were mid-season call-ups last year, but will be going for their first full season in the majors with their starts today. Enright was slightly more successful in the 2010 season than Cashner, compiling a 3.91 ERA over 17 starts. Cashner ended last year with a 4.80 ERA over 53 relief appearances.

The Cubs will be looking to Alfonso Soriano to help get the offense going in today's match-up. The outfielder is hitting above .400 with eight home runs in his last fourteen meetings with the Diamondbacks. Soriano has been hitting well lately, tallying his second home run of the season yesterday.

Tyler Colvin will get the start for first baseman Carlos Pena today, after Pena was held out for a sprained thumb suffered during the first game of the series. Pena is currently listed as day-to-day, but may be available for pinch hitting duties on Tuesday if necessary.
