After Philip Humber nearly notched a no hitter for the Sox, they look to continue their success against the Yankees in the second game of a four game series on Tuesday night.
They'll send Gavin Floyd to the mound, hoping he can build off recent starting success. Floyd has had only one real stinker of a start this year, when he gave up six runs to the Angels. In his most recent start, however, he held Tampa Bay to two runs on seven hits in six innings. His line on the year sits at 2-1 with a 4.00 ERA and 1.22 WHIP. In his career against New York, Floyd is 1-1 with a 4.45 ERA and 1.32 WHIP.
The Yankees will send Ivan Nova to the mound on Tuesday. Nova is currently 1-2 with a 7.63 ERA and 1.83 WHIP. He's faced the White Sox once before in his career, going 1-0 with a 1.59 ERA and 1.06 WHIP. In that game, Gordon Beckham hit Nova well, going 2-for-2 with a double.
The excellent weather in New York is expected to continue, sunny with a low in the low 60's and only a slight chance of showers late in the evening. First pitch is at 6:05 P.M., CDT, and the game will be televised on CSN and MY9.
