Mark Buehrle will try for another win as the Sox host the Angels at the Cell. The White Sox will try to salvage at least part of the three game set, after dropping the first two on Friday and Saturday.
Buehrle is 1-0 over three games started with a 4.26 ERA and 1.16 WHIP so far. Against the Angels, he's 2-6 over seventeen starts with, a 4.38 ERA and 1.36 WHIP. He's handled most of the Angels lineup well, though Maicer Izturis is 6-for-17 against him with a double and a home run. Vernon Wells is the only other Angel to hit Buehrle really well, holding a .500 average and 1.193 OPS against him over 38 career at-bats.
The Sox bats will have their hands full as ace Dan Haren takes the mound for the Angels today. Haren has had a phenomenal start to the season, going 3-0 with a 0.73 ERA and 0.53 WHIP. He has 21 K's in 24 IP. In his career against the White Sox, he's 0-1 with a 4.67 ERA and 1.73 WHIP over three starts. Adam Dunn is 2-for-7 against him with a home run, and Paul Konerko holds a .300 average against Haren over 10 at bats.
