After Setting Club Record, Jackson Looks For Repeat Against Oakland

The White Sox will be looking to Edwin Jackson to help them bounce back against the Oakland A's after an error and blown save on Monday evening once again denied Mark Buehrle his 150th career win.

In his previous start, at the White Sox home opener, Jackson struck out 13 to set the record for the most strikeouts by a White Sox pitcher during a home opener. Across two starts this season, Jackson has a 1.93 ERA and 1.00 WHIP. In his career, he is 2-1 against Oakland with a 3.08 ERA and 1.10 WHIP. Current A's Coco Crisp and Hideki Matsui hit Jackson the best. Crisp is 9-for-22 with a triple and Matsui is 7-for-23 with a triple and a home run.

He'll have formidable opposition. Going for the Athletics will be recently re-signed ace, Trevor Cahill. Cahill, who just signed a five year, $30.5 million deal, is 1-0 across two starts with a 1.42 ERA and 0.87 WHIP. In his career against the White Sox, he's 1-1 in five starts with a 3.34 ERA and 1.11 WHIP. Gordon Beckham hits Cahill the best, at 2-for-5 with a double and a walk.

The weather in Chicago is expected to be clear, with a low of around 40 degrees. First pitch is at 7:10 P.M. CDT, and the game will be televised on WCIU and CSNCA.
