2011 WNBA Draft: Chicago Sky Have The Third Overall Pick

The WNBA Draft will be held this afternoon in Bristol, CT and can be seen live on ESPN at 3 p.m.. The Chicago Sky have the third overall pick in the Draft, and will have the opportunity to add an impact player in the first round.

The first overall pick (held by the Minnesota Lynx) in the Draft is all but a guarantee to be Maya Moore. She was a four-time All-American at UConn and left as the program's leading scorer.

The Tulsa Shock have the second overall pick in the Draft and are expected to take Australian center Liz Cambage. She is 6'8" and considered the future of Australian women's basketball. But she is not guaranteed to go second overall like Moore is to go first, so she could be there for the Sky at No. 3.

If those two are off the board, some other prospects that will be available to them are Xavier center Amber Harris, Stanford forward Kayla Pedersen and Ohio St. center Jantel Lavender.

We'll be covering the WNBA Draft from the Sky perspective in this stream. You can check out our WNBA blog Swish Appeal for more on the National angle.
