2011 NCAA Tournament: Purdue Shutting Down St. Peter's At Half 33-17

Purdue has been known all year as one of the toughest defensive teams in America, and they seem to be proving as much so far against St Peter's so far, holding the Peacocks to only 17 points in the first half, a season low.

On offense, Purdue has been operating efficiently thus far shooting 44% from the field and tallying 33 points, led by E'Twaun Moore's 9 points on eight shots. JaJuan Johnson has been holding up his end of the bargain as well, scoring 8 points and grabbing 8 rebounds in the first period.

Purdue needed a strong showing after being taken down by Michigan State last weekend, giving up over 70 points in the process. The excellent defensive showing by the Boilermakers, especially from guard Lewis Jackson, might be the most refreshing aspect of this game so far for Purdue fans.

Should Purdue hold their lead and win, they will face the winner of the Georgetown and VCU game.
