Michigan State/Iowa Game Will Be Played, Despite Iowa Class Cancellation

There was some uncertainty about the Michigan State/Iowa game earlier today, but the University of Iowa, where classes were cancelled today, announced that the game will be played as scheduled starting at 7:30 p.m. CST.

The school announced the following in conjunction with that:

If you have a ticket to tonight’s game and choose not to go, you can use tonight’s ticket for free admission to any of Iowa’s four remaining home games. There will be more details later on hawkeyesports.com.

While supplies last at tonight’s game, there will be $1 hot dogs. Also, all fans can get free fountain soft drinks during the first half.

The doors to the arena open at 6 p.m. and tonight’s game is the second “UI Students Free” game; any Iowa students wanting to take advantage can pick up a free game ticket at the Iowa Memorial Union this afternoon or enter at the South Entrance of Carver-Hawkeye Arena tonight where they will have to show a current UI Student ID to receive free admission.

And, if you can’t make it, the game will be televised on the Big Ten Network.
