NHL: Avalanche/Blues Game In St. Louis Postponed

Maybe it’s appropriate that the Blues were going to face the Avalanche in a NHL contest in St. Louis tonight.

It’s not an avalanche, but a winter storm with too much snow and ice that has postponed the meeting between St. Louis and Colorado, originally set for the Scottrade Center tonight at 7 p.m. CST. The linked report says:

The Blues say the NHL will determine a makeup date. The game would have been the first since the All-Star break for both teams.

Missouri has been hit hard by potentially the worst winter storm in decades, and the city was socked in by a mix of snow, freezing rain and dangerously cold temperatures.

So far, no other NHL postponements have been announced for Tuesday night, but the storm, heading east, could possibly force postponements for Wednesday, or even beyond, if teams cannot travel to road sites where they’re supposed to be, in time for games.

This SB Nation Chicago StoryStream™ will have any further sports postponements or cancellations as they are announced.
