While the Illinois Fighting Illini, Notre Dame Fighting Irish, Northwestern Wildcats and DePaul Blue Demons are all off until after Christmas, the University of Illinois-Chicago Flames will suit up on Friday night to take on the Dayton Flyers. UIC enters the matchup as an 18.5-point road underdog to the Dayton, but the Flyers are the ones coming off a recent loss. They fell to the Seton Hall Pirates on Wednesday and face a quick turnaround for Friday night's game, while the Flames won on Monday night against the Western Illinois Leathernecks.

The Flames are looking to pick up their first road victory of the season, but the team has been very competitive on the road. Three out of their last four away games have been decided by three points or less, so expect UIC to come out with good effort. The team is ranked 264th nationally in points per game (63.7) and 289th in field goal percentage (40.3%), but prides itself on rebounding, holding the 44th overall ranking in that category (38.8 per game). The Flyers offense is generally more efficient than the Flames' offense, but UIC will have a huge advantage on the glass, as Dayton ranks just 288th nationall in rebounds per game (32.2).
