Blackhawks Vs. Wild Score Update: Second Period Ends 2-2

The Chicago Blackhawks and Minnesota Wild skated for 20 goal-less minutes in the first period of their Xcel Energy Center showdown on Wednesday, but the second period provided plenty of fireworks. After four total goals, the second period ends with the teams deadlocked 2-2.

The 'Hawks scored the first two goals of the period. Marian Hossa found the back of the net on a power play off assists from Jonathan Toews and Patrick Sharp. It was Hossa's 13th goal of the year. Just over a minute later, Michael Frolik beat Minnesota goaltender Niklas Backstrom for his fifth goal of the season thanks to assists from Marcus Kruger and Jamal Mayers

The Wild wouldn't stay shutout for long. Kyle Brodziak beat Ray Emery for his 11th goal of the season. Brodziak was set up by teammate Nick Johnson. Matt Cullen would tie the game at two just two minutes later when he scored his ninth goal of the year off assists from Cal Clutterbuck and Warren Peters.
