When you think of Penn State football, the first thing that comes to mind is Joe Paterno. With this weeks news regarding the sexual abuse allegations against former assistant coach Jerry Sandusky, the university needs to start cleaning house from the President to the Athletic Director and even the beloved Joe Pa. Not at the end of the season, not after this weeks game, but it needs to happen today.
↵This whole situation just feels like a cover up and I'm not saying Joe Paterno was involved, but it would be shocking to find out that he didn't know what was going on. Even if he didn't know, it still happened under his watch. The fact that initial reports showed this whole scandal starting ten years ago, and that Sundusky was still allowed on campus and involved with the children's charity several years later is down right disgusting.
↵The sad thing about this story is most of what we hear is about the effect on the Penn State football program and that this could tarnish the legacy of Joe Paterno and the Penn State program. That is all secondary to how these victims lives will never be the same for the rest of their lives. That is what this needs to be about. The victims. I have a feeling that only a few of the victims have come forward and the numbers will only increase over time.
↵Bobby Knight ,Woody Hayes, and Jim Tressel were great coaches who's careers ended after scandals. The Penn State Scandal is much worse than all of those were. This is not a football situation, this is a human situation. Joe Pa needs to step down and all those involved need to be punished to the fullest.
