Blackhawks Vs. Sharks Recap: San Jose Blanks Chicago 1-0

Two seasons ago, Antti Neimi fueled the Chicago Blackhawks to a Stanley Cup title as a rising young goalie in the organization. These days Niemi is a Shark, and he just earned the 14th shutout of his career against his former mates. Niemi stopped 34 shots as San Jose defeated Chicago 1-0 on Wednesday at HP Pavilion.

Chicago seemingly out-played the Sharks throughout, out-shooting San Jose 34-21. Niemi was too strong though, and the 'Hawks could't match Jason Demers' second period power play goal which proved to be the difference maker.

The Blackhawks Patrick Kane-Marian Hossa line again looked strong in the defeat. They combined for 10 shots on goal, seven coming from Kane.

Corey Crawford looked good in net and stopped 20 of 21 shots. That's enough most nights, but not when the opposing goalie is so locked in.
