Blackhawks Vs. Sharks Score Update: Jason Demers Makes It 1-0 Sharks

The Chicago Blackhawks continued to pepper Sharks goalie Antti Niemi with shots in the second period, but the one-time Stanley Cup hero stood strong. Chicago has out-shot San Jose 23-11 through two periods, but its the Sharks who hold a 1-0 advantage at home.

Jason Demers scored the first and (thus far) only goal of the game by beating Corey Crawford for a power play goal with under three minutes left in the period. Demers' score was set up by Ryane Clowe and Logan Couture.

Chicago drew three penalties in the period. Dave Bolland and Patrick Kane were whistled for hooking, while Viktor Stalberg drew two minuets for interference on Sharks star Joe Thornton. Dan Boyle took his third period of the game for San Jose on a delay of game call for pushing the puck over the glass.
