While there were times in the first quarter where it appeared that Notre Dame might pull away for an easy victory, Boston College has regained some of the momentum and only trails 13-7 at the half.
The Eagles scored the lone TD of the second quarter, as QB Chase Rettig found some holes in the Notre Dame defense and led BC down the field. Josh Bardner then rushed in from two yards out to put Boston College on the scoreboard.
Notre Dame QB Tommy Rees has not been at his best against the BC defense, completing only 13/22 for 141 yards. Rees has struggled with his accuracy and also has tried to force the ball into tight spaces throughout the game. Fortunately for the Fighting Irish, the Eagles defense has dropped numerous potential interceptions. The Fighting Irish have been led by senior RB Jonas Gray on the ground, as he has rushed for 54 yards on nine carries.
