Patrick Kane led the Hawks with three points and backup goaltender Ray Emery made 27 saves as the Hawks improved to 2-1 on the young season. What’s even more important is the Hawks are now 2-0 at home after struggling on home ice last season.

Winnipeg got on the board twice in the first period thanks to two goals by Jim Slater. The Hawks would quickly rebound though and score the next four goals en route to the victory.

Daniel Carcillo made his Blackhawks debut Thursday and contributed nicely with an assist to go along with a team high four hits.

The Hawks will welcome the Stanley Cup Champion Boston Bruins to town in their next game Saturday at the United Center.
