Ex-Bear Ron Rivera Moving Ahead In Carolina Panthers Coaching Search

Former Bears player and defensive coordinator Ron Rivera appears to be inching closer to the head coaching job he has been seeking for several years. After the 2006 season, Rivera was in the running for several head coaching jobs, including the jobs in Dallas, San Diego, Pittsburgh and Arizona. Ultimately he would miss out on all of those jobs and leave the Bears to become a coordinator under Norv Turner in San Diego.

Now, according to a tweet by Sports Illustrated’s Peter King, Rivera is headed back for a second interview with the Carolina Panthers. The Panthers recently fired head coach John Fox after they posted the worst record in the NFL this season at 2-14…
