The Blackhawks host the Dallas Stars, Marty Turco's former team, tonight at the United Center. Turco did not play in the Blackhawks' 5-3 win over the Stars at the UC on Dec. 8 and won't play tonight, either; the start goes to the hot Corey Crawford.
So Turco will have to wait until the Hawks travel to Dallas on Feb. 11 to play against his old team and his old fans. Meanwhile, Crawford gets the shot to prove he's the No. 1 goalie, just as Antti Niemi did a year ago, finally supplanting Cristobal Huet.
The Hawks finally looked pretty sharp on Monday night against the Kings in Los Angeles, getting a late goal from the just-returned Jonathan Toews to give them a 4-3 win. It's that kind of energy that's been missing from the Blackhawks' attack for most of this season.
Tonight's game begins at 7:30 p.m. CST and will be televised on CSN Chicago Plus, which is on CLTV in Chicago (check your own cable system for the channel). After the Bulls game ends, the telecast will also be seen on CSN's main channel.
