Your Thursday Sports TV Schedule

There’s plenty of baseball on the schedule today, but what you’re really looking forward to (Sox fans, after your game vs. the Tigers this afternoon) is the kickoff of the NFL season. The Cubs are off today, for the diehards.

↵

12 noon, CSN Chicago: White Sox at Tigers. About as close to an absolute must-win as you can get for the Sox right now. The Twins are off today, so the Sox can gain on them.

↵

2 pm, MLB Network: Reds at Rockies. The Rockies have sneaked back into contention, 4.5 games out of both the NL West and wild card leads.

↵

2 pm, Golf Channel: BMW Championship, first round, from Cog Hill.

↵

6 pm, MLB Network: Cardinals at Braves. If the Reds lose the earlier MLBN game, and the Cardinals win… St. Louis creeps back to within five of the NL Central lead.

↵

7:30 pm, NBC-5: NFL kickoff, Vikings at Saints. Maybe Brett Favre won’t throw an interception at a key moment tonight.
