Paul Konerko is out of the White Sox’s lineup Tuesday night as he recovers from a tight lower back.
Konerko is 4-for-34 lifetime against Tigers ace Justin Verlander. Mark Kotsay will start at first base in place of Konerko, who hasn’t played since Sunday.
