The Bears had hoped that they would sneak quarterback Dan LeFevour through waivers so they could sign him to the practice squad, but as Neil Hayes reports in the Sun-Times, the calculated risk failed:
The Bears gambled and lost when they released quarterback Dan LeFevour with hopes of him clearing waivers and joining the practice squad.
The Cincinnati Bengals released veteran J.T. O’Sullivan, claimed the sixth-round pick from Downers Grove and put him on their regular roster.
The Bears didn’t have room for four QB’s on their regular roster, but the Bengals did have room for LeFevour on theirs.
There is still one opening on the Bears’ practice squad.
