Byrd, Ramirez Both Double In Four-Run Fifth Lead Cubs To Win; Marmol Posts 33rd Save

Miami, FL (Sports Network) - Marlon Byrd knocked in two runs in a four-run fifth inning and Casey Coleman pitched a quality start to lead Chicago to a 5-3 win over Florida in the second meeting of a three-game series.

Coleman (2-2) surrendered three runs on five hits and four walks in six-plus innings in the Cubs' fifth straight win. Blake DeWitt doubled twice, scored a run and knocked in another for the victors.

Anibal Sanchez (12-10) was charged with four runs on five hits and five walks over five frames for Florida, which has dropped five in a row. Logan Morrison went 3-for-5 with a run scored and an RBI in defeat.

Mike Stanton's single in the first inning scored Morrison, and it stayed 1-0 until the Cubs pushed four across in the fifth.

Tyler Colvin scored on a Brad Davis' throwing error, Byrd hit a chopper down the third-base line that brought home two, and Aramis Ramirez added an RBI double.

Back-to-back doubles by Cameron Maybin and Brad Davis in the seventh made it 4-2 and ended Coleman's outing. Justin Berg later gave up a run-scoring hit to Logan Morrison before getting Dan Uggla on a pop up to strand two runners.

Blake DeWitt double in the eighth scored Geovany Soto for an insurance run, and Carlos Marmol tossed a 1-2-3 ninth for his 33rd save of the season.
