Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune reports that Chicago Bears linebacker Hunter Hillenmeyer, who recently was placed on injury reserve after sustaining a concussion in August, is now considering the possibility of retirement from football.
But his future is unknown.
“I’m certainly not ready to say at this point,” he said. "I know I’m obviously done for the year and that gives me at a minimum eight or nine months before I’m doing football-related activities again and that’s certainly enough time to evaluate what I’m going to do down the road.
“It’s hard for a guy my age, 29, being one of the older people in the league, to think about how this is going to affect me when I am 50 or 60. There are certainly a lot of factors that come into play. As far as how I weigh those on an individual basis, that’s, you know, my business.”
