Bears Sign Marcus Buggs To Practice Squad

The Bears made a couple of minor moves today:

The Chicago Bears signed LB Marcus Buggs to the practice squad and terminated the practice squad contract of WR Greg Mathews.

Buggs joined the NFL as an undrafted free agent of the Buffalo Bills in 2008 out of Vanderbilt. He appeared in nine total games with the Bills during the 2008 and 2009 season with two starts, recording 20 tackles and one tackle for a loss. Buggs also registered four special teams tackles with Buffalo.

The Bears may be hurting at LB due to the season-ending injury to Hunter Hillenmeyer and the fact that Lance Briggs and Nick Roach are still banged up. Buggs may have a chance to play for real if this keeps up.
