Ozzie Guillen, Dancer

Unfortunately, there are no photos of Ozzie dancing with his wife in this article about Ozzie’s benefit last night. The article does describe what happened:

“Where I grew up, you don’t marry a beautiful woman if you’re not dancing,” said Guillen during his salsa-themed benefit at the River East Arts Center (435 E. Illinois) on Monday.

It didn’t take Guillen long to get on the dance floor during the benefit, which featured performances by salsa artists Ruben Blades, Tito Nieves, Gilberto Santa Rosa and 8 Y Mas. He was shaking his hips and twirling his wife, Ibis, during the very first song of the night.

Proceeds from the benefit, which featured auction items such as an autographed Manny Ramirez jersey and an autographed Derrick Rose jersey, went to White Sox Charities and Ozzie’s foundation. Ozzie was clearly enjoying himself:

Guillen, sporting a pinstriped suit, said he chose the salsa theme because he wanted it to feel like a party in someone’s house. When asked to name the worst dancer on the Sox, Guillen claimed it would likely be one of the American players but didn’t specify.

“The worst Latin player would have to be Alex Rios,” Guillen said. "…He can’t dance. He can’t. After seeing him dance salsa in Puerto Rico one day, I said ’You’re a great centerfielder.’ "
