Cubs 'Restructure' Marketing Department

As first noted in this ESPN.com report, the Cubs have fired Matt Wszolek, who took over as head of sales and promotions when Jay Blunk left to join the Blackhawks.

According to the Tribune’s Paul Sullivan:

Wszolek’s role in the department was reduced last fall when the Ricketts family took control of the club and named Wally Hayward as executive vice-president, chief sales and marketing officer.

↵

Hayward was unavailable for comment, but told ESPNChicago.com the move was part of a “restructuring” of the marketing department.

No details on what that “restructuring” involves.
