As first noted in this ESPN.com report, the Cubs have fired Matt Wszolek, who took over as head of sales and promotions when Jay Blunk left to join the Blackhawks.

↵↵↵Wszolek’s role in the department was reduced last fall when the Ricketts family took control of the club and named Wally Hayward as executive vice-president, chief sales and marketing officer.
↵Hayward was unavailable for comment, but told ESPNChicago.com the move was part of a “restructuring” of the marketing department.
