White Sox Wives Host Benefit For Gulf Spill Victims

Jamie Buehrle and Megan Thomas (Frank Thomas’ wife), active members of the Baseball Wives Charitable Foundation, are hosting a fundraiser tonight at the Bridgeport Art Center, 1200 W. 35th St. They will be displaying the paintings, drawings, prints, photographs, as well as wood and metal sculptures by Artists of Eastbank, who share studios at the Bridgeport Art Center, the former Spiegel Catalog warehouse. This collection of original art illustrates the response of 50 Chicago artists to the Gulf Coast BP oil spill disaster.

The event is from 5:00-10:00 p.m. and will feature a “piece of New Orleans” with authentic New Orleans cuisine and Dixieland music.

All proceeds benefit the Greater New Orleans Foundation’s Gulf Coast Oil Spill Fund; the money will go to help fisherman, their families and the other victims affected by this tragedy.

There’s no admission charge but you can make a donation at the door for this worthy cause.
