Baltimore, MD (Sports Network) – Adam Jones punched a two-out single through the left side of the infield to bring in the winning run, as the resurgent Orioles captured a 2-1 from the White Sox in 10 innings.
Tony Pena (3-2), in his third inning of relief, gave up a pair of singles to Nick Markakis and Luke Scott in the 10th to leave runners at the corners and Jones placed a base hit between third and short to hand Baltimore its fourth straight win under new manager Buck Showalter.
It was the club’s second straight walk-off win after Cesar Izturis’ base hit in the bottom of the ninth inning Thursday capped a three-game sweep of the Angels to start the Showalter era.
Gordon Beckham hit a solo home run and doubled for Chicago, which came into the opener of this four-game series having won nine of its last 11 contests.
