The Big Ten has selected Indianapolis’ Lucas Oil Stadium as the proposed site to host the inaugural Big Ten Championship Game in 2011.↵
The league announced Thursday afternoon that it will begin a 30-day period to negotiate a one-year agreement with Indiana Sports Corp and Lucas Oil Stadium. After that agreement is in place, the league will conduct a thorough process to find a home for the game in 2012 and beyond.↵
The game will be held in December 2011; the following February, the Super Bowl will be held in the same stadium.↵

Here’s hoping Chicago gets to host one of those games in 2012 or beyond.
