Will Manny Have To Visit A Barber?

Jerry Reinsdorf's White Sox have a pretty strict grooming policy. Will they enforce that with the dreadlocked Manny Ramirez?

The Sun-Times' Dan Cahill examines the issue:

If Ramirez is confronted about the hair, this won’t be the first time. When the Dodgers acquired him in 2008, manager Joe Torre asked him to clean it up. He cut off an inch — maybe.

Long-haired Manny was having a good year in 2008 with the Red Sox (20 home runs, 68 RBI, .299 average), but that was nothing compared to cleaned-up Manny. He finished the season with 17 home runs, 53 RBI and a .396 average in only 187 at-bats. Maybe Torre was on to something.

Manny is expected in the lineup tonight, wearing the #99 he's sported for the Dodgers the last two years. But will you be able to read that number? Or will the hair cover it up? Stay tuned.
