Andre Dawson Returning To Cooperstown

Last month, Andre Dawson was inducted into baseball’s Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, NY.

Tonight, he will be honored by the Chicago Cubs for his six outstanding seasons in a Cubs uniform.

But Dawson’s service to baseball and the Hall doesn’t end there. In October, Andre will return to Cooperstown for a special celebration that is part of a Columbus Day weekend program highlighting character and courage, things that were hallmarks of Dawson’s great career:

As part of its third-annual salute to character and courage, the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum will present Columbus Day Weekend programming dedicated to those qualities, highlighted by a Legends Series event in Cooperstown. Dawson, fresh off his moving Induction Speech July 25 as part of Hall of Fame Weekend, will share his insights on the game at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 9 in the Hall of Fame’s Grandstand Theater.

A ticket is required for the event and costs $10 for adults, $5 for children under 12. Tickets are available to participants in the Hall of Fame’s Membership program Sept. 13 by calling 607-547-0397, and any remaining tickets will go on sale to the general public on Monday, Oct. 4.
