Erick Threets To Have Tommy John Surgery

The Chicago Breaking Sports link in the previous update has been updated to include the following info:

The White Sox bullpen took another hit when lefty Erick Threets elected to undergo Tommy John surgery on his left elbow, which he injured during Friday’s victory over the Yankees. The already have relievers J.J. Putz and Matt Thornton on the disabled list.

“Very, very sad moment,” manager Ozzie Guillen said of Threets’ injury, which takes up to 18 months to heal. “He was throwing the ball very well.”
