In these times, it's not surprising that most bigtime sports events get corporate sponsorship.
So today's announcement that Allstate, a Chicago area company, would be the naming-rights sponsor of the Northwestern/Illinois Big Ten game to take place at Wrigley Field on November 20, was not unexpected.
On a flawlessly gorgeous late-summer afternoon at Wrigley Field, representatives of the Cubs, Allstate and Northwestern revealed the sponsorship and put this logo on the Wrigley scoreboard:
