Kyle Williams, a son of Sox GM Kenny Williams, was a sixth-round pick of the San Francisco 49ers out of Arizona State. He was expected to help the Niners out as a punt and kickoff returner.
↵Williams, however, got hurt in the 49ers’ first exhibition game:
↵↵↵Rookie returner Kyle Williams will miss “several weeks” with a sprained big toe, coach Mike Singletary said one day after Sunday’s 37-27 exhibition victory at Indianapolis.
↵Williams was injured on a 36-yard punt return against the Colts – double any distance recorded by the 49ers last season. He also had a 28-yard kickoff return.

The article says he’ll be “re-evaluated” after the “several weeks” is up, so he’s likely to miss a good chunk of what would have been his rookie NFL season.
