Cubs Welcome NL West-Leading Padres To Wrigley Field

The Cubs come home this evening off a series victory in St. Louis against the Cardinals to face the Padres, who lead the NL West and have the best road record in the National League (33-25).

Lefthander Tom Gorzelanny will take the mound for the Cubs; he'll face the Padres' Kevin Correia. It's the first meeting between the clubs in nearly a full calendar year; they haven't played each other since August 19, 2009 in San Diego, and not at Wrigley Field since May 14, 2009.

Rookie Darwin Barney will get his first major league start at shortstop tonight, replacing Starlin Castro, who is simply being given the day off.

The game begins at 7:05 pm CDT and will be televised on WGN-TV.
