Sox May Send Jenks To DL

According to the Sun-Times, Bobby Jenks’ bad back may send him to the DL:

Jenks has been able to pitch only twice since Aug. 5. Limited availability may force the team to put him on the disabled list to gain another bullpen arm.

‘’I had the same answer four days ago that [his] back is sore, stiff,’’ manager Ozzie Guillen said. ‘’We gave him a chance to recover, and the next day he can’t pitch. I want Bobby on the mound more than anybody. But all kinds of stuff went through my mind [about how to use the bullpen without Jenks].

‘’Right now I can’t think about Bobby. I have to think about what’s best for the club. What the club needs the most is what we’re going to do.’’

Guillen said the Sox can’t wait several days only to possibly have Jenks unable to throw again.

’’Hopefully he can throw [tonight] off the mound and we can give him one inning in a game.

‘’If it goes five, six, seven days, we’re wasting days.’’
