Konerko Ties Game With Ninth-Inning Homer, But Sox Lose

The White Sox got another fine outing from Edwin Jackson, who allowed just one earned run in six strong innings with seven strikeouts.

They had to come from behind to force extra innings; Paul Konerko’s home run leading off the ninth inning tied the game, and the Sox then got the tying run to second base with one out on a sacrifice bunt in both the ninth and tenth innings, but could not score.

The loss, the third in four games to the Orioles, put the Sox in a first-place tie with the Minnesota Twins, who come to the South Side for a three-game series beginning Tuesday night.
