Our own Al Yellon wondered about it back in June, and so it has come to pass: Blackhawks Assistant Coach John Torchetti is heading down to Atlanta to take up the same position with the Thrashers.
↵Torchetti will work with Atlanta’s head coach Craig Ramsay to try and improve a hockey team that finished tenth in NHL’s Eastern Conference in 2009-2010 with a 35-34 record (83 goals). Meanwhile, Blackhawks fans are left wondering whether the organization’s bold rebuilding effort after a championship season will justify the sudden and jarring dismantling of a beloved team.
