The Stanley Cup champion Blackhawks have been taking the Cup everywhere, being offered free beer in Wrigleyville, and being celebrated in their hometowns.
↵Jonathan Toews will be bringing the Cup to his home in Winnipeg this weekend, where they'll have a parade in his honor; but before that even happens, the province of Manitoba is giving the Hawks captain a unique immortalization:
↵↵↵The announcement came from Manitoba Premier Greg Selinger on CJOB radio this morning, as Toews prepares to bring the Stanley Cup to Winnipeg on Sunday:
↵“We’re going to name a lake after him. Manitoba has 100,000 lakes. I know Jonathan likes to fish with his dad; he’s been up at Aikens Lake, fishing up there. So we’re going to name a lake after him.”

A lake for winning the Cup. Wonder what the city of Chicago could do to top that for any Cub on a World Series winner.
