Cubs Lose 6-5; Record In One-Run Games Drops To 13-23

Denver, CO (Sports Network) – Carlos Gonzalez lead-off home run in the ninth inning gave the Colorado Rockies a 6-5 win over the Chicago Cubs in the second of a three-game set.

Gonzalez led off the bottom of the inning against Sean Marshall (6-3) and destroyed the first pitch he faced into the upper deck of right field to give the Rockies their third straight win.

Colorado was coming off Friday’s 17-2 win which saw the team have 11 consecutive two-out hits in the eighth and score 12 runs in the frame for the blowout win.
