Sox Trade Rumor: Daniel Hudson For Edwin Jackson. Question: Why?

Multiple sources are reporting this new White Sox trade rumor:

The White Sox have shifted their focus from Washington’s Adam Dunn to trading for Arizona starting pitcher Edwin Jackson, according to reports from Ken Rosenthal and Jon Heyman.

This doesn’t sound like something Kenny Williams would do. What would be the point? Apart from his 149-pitch no-hitter and one other start where he went nine scoreless innings, Jackson has been awful this year. Hudson could do exactly what Jackson is doing, and he’s four years younger with bigger upside.

Joe Cowley of the Sun-Times just tweeted this:

Hold off on the Jackson trade folks, KW has something big cooking and if he gets it done Jackson trade is off.

Well, rumors are a dime a dozen right now, but not trading Hudson for Jackson would be a good start for Kenny Williams.
